Marriott Rewards and Core Restaurant in Notting Hill London.
Core is the debut restaurant of Clare Smyth, the first and only female chef to run a restaurant with three Michelin-stars in the UK. Clare grew up on a farm in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Her farming roots drive her devotion to serving strictly British cuisine using only farm fresh ingredients. She shared that she’s had a relationship with her potato farmer for over 15 years— and that’s just one of many.
Clare and her incredible team were selected to cater the royal wedding. This past Tuesday, forty Marriott Rewards members were served the same menu as the royals at a special Marriott Rewards Members experience. Twelve lucky members were invited to breakfast at Core and then hosted by Clare and her Chef, Johnny, who guided them through the preparation of the entire meal. They didn’t peel carrots - they did it all!
The master class members were also treated to a special wine tasting event hosted by Garreth, the wine master at Core. He tested their knowledge by listing the unique characteristics and geographies of each wine and asked the members to taste and identify them by their description. One member got them all right - three white and three red. IMPRESSIVE - MOST IMPRESSIVE.
It was an amazing event that showcased the gracious, meticulous, and genuine hospitality for which the British are known. In a word it was BRILLIANT!
